Teletherapy
Yes it works for EMDR and Chronic Pain Management!

Covid and the information technology explosion has changed the worldwide landscape and the way we live our lives. A mere five years in the past, we all drove to our regular jobs at our respective places of business. In 2020 the world changed, and psychotherapy with it. Since that time, we have learned that we can still go about our everyday lives and have found ways to adjust. Some of those adjustments have been positive. The way Clinical Mental Health Therapy is done is one of those positive changes. We've learned by experience and by peer reviewed research that teletherapy is just as effective as in-person therapy, and in some cases, MORE EFFECTIVE!

Prior to the pandemic, teletherapy services were primarily reserved for clients in remote areas that could not travel to their therapist, or to clients who were not physically able to participate in "in-person" therapy. The recent pandemic, although tragic in many ways, has taught us a valuable lesson. This lesson is that we can participate in good therapy regardless of our ability to travel or to expose ourselves un-necessarily, to sickness. Teletherapy is advantageous in several ways. Really, there is no downside to participating in therapy with a highly qualified EMDR therapist via HIPAA approved telehealth / teletherapy platform. Some of the advantages are:
-
A Safer Experience - No traffic to fight and No need to expose yourself or your family to deadly disease. If you are struggling with chronic pain, this is an opportunity to experience relief without exposing yourself to the pain of driving, walking, and stairs!

-
More cost-effective - No need to drive to an appointment and no need to arrange extra time for travel. You may even be able to schedule your session for your lunch break, preventing time from work!

-
Teletherapy is a time-saver! - Save time getting ready to leave and save time travelling to and from your appointment. Also, no need to wait in a waiting room for an appointment. Just log in at your appointment time and your therapist will be there ready to go to work! You can reach a HIPAA secure connection in the front seat of your car from your cell phone.

-
Teletherapy allows for more and better privacy. The issues you are dealing with are your business and your business alone. With teletherapy you enjoy a secure HIPAA secure and compliant connection with your therapist. Your issues stay between you and your therapist alone.

If you're going through a particularly difficult time and need a quick 30 minute session to get you through the day, many therapists will work hard to fit you into their schedule, making teletherapy a clear winner for all.
